This video describes an innovative teaching method known as service-learning and was produced in cooperation with the National Commission on Service-Learning. The Commission recommends that all children in kindergarten through 12th grade participate in service-learning as part of their educational curriculum. Service-learning is spreading throughout American schools as an effective teaching and learning strategy. Service-learning integrates community service with academic study to enrich learning, teach civic responsibility and strengthen communities.

This video is for educators, school board members, parents, policymakers and other leaders who influence the public education agenda.
